The blessed life is the good, beautiful, sensible and happy life. Aristotle.

The blessed life The blessed life

Aristotle describes the characteristics of the Blessed Life: good, beautiful, sensible and happy. We can give a definition of a concept through its own characteristics also explains the philosopher.
To define the blessed life Aristotle recur to the concept of perfect virtue, the gospels call this type of virtue "spiritual gifts". A perfect virtue is the maximum virtue in its genre: an example in the gender of giving and receiving we have: justice, equity and mercy, mercy is the perfect virtue of that gender; in the genre of intelligence we have prudence and the art of listening or gift of counsel, the counsel is the perfect virtue. The blessed life would be following this idea a synthesis of all the perfect virtues of man. For Aristotle the most perfect virtue is the contemplative activity, in that sense the "contemplative" man is the blessed man by excellence, reaching the most perfect happiness that exists, the happiness of the heart or eternal happiness.
The blessed life of seeking the correct and the best, is looking to the correct because we act with precision and esactitude and we look for the best because when you have to choose between two goods we choose the best. Minimize the error, have constancy, listening, good discerning, be determined to overcome difficulties are other features of this lifestyle. To understand what is the Blessed Life is necessary to understand its opposite. The Blessed Life is the product of the good mentality: uplifting, progressive and just; is living the perfect virtues received from the divine.
The opposite of good mentality is Concupiscence.¿And what is concupiscence? The mother of the sin. Concupiscence is what tempts man to sin, to do evil. We could say that concupiscence is what is oppose to the good love, that is the love for oneself, the love to power and money. The forms of love are translate into ways of thinking, we love what we want. In life there are no magic solutions, the universe not fix any problem, we reap what we sow; the blessed trusts in his constancy, that is the origine of his safety; when we are blessed, we are mature, we take charge of our lives and we became like the divine.
