The Spiritual Gift of Trust in God in the Old and New Testament

The book of Psalms has a common literary style with the books of the old testament: the righteous put his trust in the Lord. This is so because the psalms are a set of songs or hymns that have the purpose of praise the wisdom of God, the Creator is manifested through his work, that is to say, it is not necessary to believe in God by faith, by accepting a particular Creed, but for a particular knowledge of the created.
In the psalms, as in other books of the Old Testament, wisdom is the path to the confidence, the Trust or the security in God, that is, through the wisdom of God manifested in the creation we believe.
This is why the psalmist expresses: The Lord's unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him. Psalm 32.1
It is a different literary style to the New Testament that emphasizes the Faith. Aquinas defines Faith as accepting the Creed and hope as the assurance of receiving the eternal life.
It is interesting to note that Confidence or Security in God according to the Fathers of the Church, the scholastic philosophy, accompanies the Perseverance and the eternal life, the trust in God is the faith perfected by the Gift of Knowledge.
In the message of the gospel, the Trust in God is the realization of the hope, that is, when we reach the eternal life, the knowledge of God through the contemplative activity: "this is eternal life that they may know you the only true God", John 17: 3.
Trust in God is for those born of the spirit: "No one can see the Kingdom of God unless they are born again", John 3: 3; or to say for those who are children again. The Security in God is an instance superior to Faith in the gospel message.
