Bible study: But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God's promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ
The Kingdom of Heaven is beyond all human virtue, as well as the law of Moses. The Kingdom of God is a grace, that is why some understand the word with their hearts and others do not. And this is important because when the word begins to germinate in us, in our hearts, it is when we abandon the slavery of sin and accept the freedom of the spirit. Unfortunately, people who do not understand the word of God, it is because deep down they reject it: "The natural man does not accept the things that come from the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because he is spiritually discerned" 1 Corinthians 2:14.
The Bible asks us not to live as natural men but as spiritual men, because the spiritual man possesses blessing: "The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment", 1 Corinthians 2:15.
Freedom and slavery are fundamental spiritual concepts in the Christian doctrine, because we have to make a fundamental choice: "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money", Matthew 6:24.
If we choose apparent goods, such as money or fame, as the basis of our happiness, how far are we going to work to get more money or be more famous?.
That is why, faced with this problem, the apostle Paul reminds us of the importance of accepting Jesus as personal savior so that he, through his mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness) and good love (Agape), give us or grants us, the right path in life, our Lord Jesus as the only true God justifies us: "But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God's promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ" Galatians 3:22.
