The Gift of Perseverance join and perfect the state of grace, the state of communion with God. It is the gift of those who have been born again, "no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again" Gospel of John 3: 3, of those born not of the flesh but of the spirit (Gnosis) .
The contemplation or eternal life (this is eternal life that they may know you the only true God, John 17: 3) and the security in God accompanies the Perseverance and are gifts associated with the fruits of the spirit, with the perfect likeness or image to God. Once this gift is received, it is "never lost", perseverance perfects all divine wisdom, it is the gift that unites us to the love of God (Agape), that is why we speak of the final perseverance of the saints.
It is a gift associated with the joy and the happiness of the heart. Perseverance is the daily determination of doing good and avoiding evil and his distinctive quality is the resistance even when suffering is prolonged, this characteristic is what difference the perseverance of continuous improvement and the virtue of fortitude.
To the accomplishment of certain tasks that are extraordinary and possess a marked difficulty, certain qualities are required for its compliance, perseverance is associated with these necessary qualities: resistance, determination, constancy, fearlessness.
Perseverance is the gift that allows us to overcome the most extraordinary and difficult challenges that life presents us. Through this extraordinary gift we manifest the Kingdom of God, and carry to a full realization the God's Law and all the Beatitudes and divine promises, that is God's plan for men, in this consist the salvation. Remember the phrase: "Be perfect as the Father is perfect" Matthew 5, that is, be wise as the father is wise, be perseverant as the father is perseverant.
The perseverant man is an unusual and excellent man. We are called to the excellence: the sensible, beautiful and happy life also propose to us by Aristoteles.
