The good king: When he rules in the fear of God, he is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning

King David was in the Bible the example of a good king, he was not a perfect person, he had both successes and mistakes, but he did everything in his power to please God. For Christians, David is an anticipation of the Kingdom of God promised by our Lord Jesus Christ, and an example to always keep in mind.
The second book of Samuel tells us about the last oracle that King David received from his God, the true rock of Israel, and that summarizes his life and his reign:
"The inspired utterance of David son of Jesse,
the utterance of the man exalted by the Most High,
the man anointed by the God of Jacob,
the hero of Israel's songs:
´The Spirit of the LORD spoke through me;
his word was on my tongue.
The God of Israel spoke, the Rock of Israel said to me:
´When one rules over people in righteousness,
when he rules in the fear of God,
he is like the light of morning at sunrise
on a cloudless morning,
like the brightness after rain
that brings grass from the earth´´" 2 Samuel 23:1-4.
The oracle compares people who develop their spiritual gifts with the morning light because the gifts are expansive, and progressive. The oracle mentions two fundamental spiritual gifts, righteousness and fear of God, by righteousness, we have a correct relationship with our neighbor, righteousness is to always act by ethical principles: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", Matthew 7:12.
And by the fear of God we have a correct relationship with God, the fear of God is constancy, firmness, devotion, equanimity, and stability.
With these gifts, David gave to God what corresponded to God, and to men what corresponded to men. David, despite his mistakes, was a person who lived with wisdom and knew how to balance the earthly and the heavenly at the same time.
He also showed us something else: "Wealth is good where there is no sin" Ben Sirach 13:24. If we want to be successful people, we must first seek God and his gifts, and then be prospered and blessed by them as David did.
