Psalm 34:14

Psalm 34 is a psalm of thanksgiving, the author of the psalm praises God recognizing his greatness and his wisdom to continue then with an exhortation to the children of God to live the righteous life, the mercy and fear of the Lord and only with these spiritual gifts can we achieve the eternal life and true happiness. The psalm ends with a reward for good and evil persons.
The Bible reminds us, "The pay of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life" Romans 6:23, the end of the psalm is similar to this teaching of the Gospel.
The psalm teach us about a choice between good and evil, between the sin and the rectitude. The sin is to practice the evil, is to deprive of help our neighbor. Instead the good in acting according to God's law: "Do for others what you would like them to do unto you" Matthew 7:12
The bible teach to us the importance of the distinction between good and evil. Good and evil are lifestyles, are basic structures of thought. A life full of sins or a righteous life, we have to choose. The virtues and values do not explain human behavior. The attitude toward our neighbor determines our lifestyle.
We serve God or money. Those who sin, love money and their own vices, always acting in pursuit of their own greed. Fear and greed are the basic emotions in those who practice the sin and make the sin a lifestyle.
Instead those who direct their thoghts towards the Divine seek to improve themselves, their environment and the society in which they live. The good, fine, sensible and happy life as Aristotle says is proper of the righteous people.
The Law of Return acts in our choices, in our lifestyle that is why we talk about fruits. The fruit of a life ful of sins is the ruin and a life away of the divine that is the reason that we speak of "death."
However for those who choose a life of righteousness, the return is the emotional health, the peace, the happiness of the heart and a long life.
