The spiritual hope: When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit
Many times we think about money or happiness, but when it is like that, it is because we are subject to the flesh, because these goods are not ends in themselves, but rather they are the result of growing in the true goods that are the spiritual goods, money and happiness comes when we are rich before God.
The doctrine of the Kingdom of Heaven contains in itself a fundamental concept: progressivity. The seed becomes a tree and the worm becomes a butterfly. The spiritual gifts are precision and accuracy, incremental growth, and life: "I am the way and the truth and the life" John 14:6. Jesus personifies the perfections of God.
This is why the spiritual hope in the doctrine of the kingdom of God, which is the foundation of all spiritual promises, is so important. Hope projects us. The realization of the virtue of hope is the hidden treasure of the gospels: "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.", Matthew 13:44.
This is how Paul expresses in the epistle to the Ephesians how the gift of hope leads us to all the promises of the spirit: "In order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory" Ephesians 1:12-14.
The Holy Spirit guides us and is a guarantee of our happiness. Faith and hope, when sustained by the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion), lead us to redemption and spiritual life with God, explains to us the apostle Paul.
